The Chair

The GCMT is governed by the Council of Member Organisations under an independent Chair.

Maggie Dunn is the Independent Chair of GCMT.  A nurse by training, Maggie was for many years the lead negotiator in the UK for Nurses, midwives, health visitors and paramedics.  She has written and lectured extensively on industrial relations, health ethics and registration and training of health staff.

Maggie has a wide knowledge of the international health economy and has worked with professional organisations and trade unions in many countries including, the EU, USA, South Africa, Australia, Russia and Nicaragua.

Maggie until recently was a Senior National Officer with UNISON the largest trade union in the UK.  She was appointed the position of Head of Fitness to Practise where she represented UNISON's 300,000 plus professionally registered members.
