It has been the remit of the GCMT to standardize Body Massage/Body Works by aligning Massage, Sports and Remedial Therapies Core Curriculum with the National Occupational Standard (NOS).
In tandem with the setting and review of the core curricula, we have developed the criteria for entry onto the National Register of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) in January 2009. Accredited Prior Learning will be taken into consideration for those practitioners who qualified prior to these standards being put in place.
A system of Continued Professional Development has been created which will be a requirement for the continued development of all Massage and Bodywork Practitioners and will assist them to meet the anticipated stringent requirements of the CNHC.
GCMT has worked diligently, completing the necessary requirements of becoming the recognized Governing Body of our Profession. This is an exciting development and offers an opportunity to all Massage and Bodywork Practitioners meeting the required standards to become registered with the CNHC.
