Regulations Working Group

This Working Group closed 19/6/08.

This Group is responsible on behalf of Council for developing policy on regulation and delivering our goals in relation to the regulatory process. 

Working closely with the Education and Training Group, it will develop standards and criteria for entry onto its registers, procedures for the investigating of complaints against registrants and the establishment of an independent register.

Should there be a more federal approach to regulation it will work with other professions on ensuring relevant admission criteria are appropriate for Massage Therapists.

It is also involved with the accreditation process for training establishments and individual practitioners, particularly in the areas relating to qualifications from outside the UK or professional organisations who are not currently represented on the GCMT.

It will also work closely with other regulatory bodies and the Foundation for Integrated Health, on behalf of the Council where appropriate.
